Fast release of oak compounds for use in tanks

Oak segments allow quick extraction of oak compounds and are compatible for use in tanks. They are particularly useful for fermentation and for late and targeted adjustments.
  • Can be used during fermentation, aging, and finishing.
  • Designed for fast-to-market wines.
  • Suggested contact time of 3-18 months. Wine should be frequently tasted and evaluated to determine the exact contact time.
  • Oak segments are packaged in food grade mesh bags. The bags have rugged handles to allow for easy tank installation and removal. 
  • Available in French (Quercus petraea, Q. robur) and American Oak (Quercus alba)
  • Available in Medium, Medium +, Savour, Savour DM and Barrel Head toasts.
  • Size: 2-3in x 1.5-2.5in x 3/8in; 15lb bag
    Recommended Dosage: 
    1-6 bags/1000 gal; 20-90 lbs/1000gal; 2-11g/L

    Usage: 
    Segments are cut from full-length staves into 2-inch squares. They are contained in a food grade, nylon mesh bag ready to add to tank.

    Storage: 
    Store in a cool dry, odor free environment below 25°C (77°F) away from ignition sources. If stored tightly sealed and dry, shelf life is 5 years.Once opened use immediately.
